RedShed Rest Day

Rest Day Topic:  Stop the rumors!!

The third (end) bay is up for rent… thus the sign out in front of the building.

NO… we are NOT going out of business, in fact, we are doing very well thank you!

NO… we are NOT in jeopardy of losing our space, in fact, it is in our year plan to take over a second bay!

NO… we are NOT going out of business, in fact, I believe I said that already!

So when your friends ask you what's up with the sign out in front of the building, please dismiss all rumors, and state the truth… the shed is where it's at!

  1. shed mix (lara bar) experiment with dried apricots and figs instead of dates, cranberries and blueberries.
not as good as my original recipe, but came out ok. very dense.
will have to work on it!

  7. interesting, i didn’t realize there was a rumor mill started…
my guess on the culprit would be BF, it all fits into place if you thinks about it, the sign goes up, and he shows up out of nowhere. (not to mention he’s a notorious drama queen)

  13. J9 – I put the nuts in the food processor; it was that easy – walnut & almond butter w/apple & orange last nite.
The other one is sliced turnips and butternut squash layered in a baking pan, pour a couple cans of coconut milk over, top with chopped nuts & bake till tender.
Day 21 still unbroken; that can’t last much longer!

  19. Good call on the walnut butter deb! Now we can keep those omega 6’s in check by eating walnut butter instead of almond butter. I can also use it in the paleo “fudge” I’m addicted to. Now all we need is some nut trees and we’ll be totally self sufficient.

  25. my fig/apricot bars are awesome, once they sat in the fridge for a bit!
    I am with you Scott…
I want to get some chickens this spring, and work on developing a garden that will make us a more self-reliant family.
Nut trees, fig trees, fruit trees… pluse chickens for meat and eggs…that would be a dream come true!

  31. or just a food cooperative. I have the most trouble with meat. Even the “organic non antibiotic” beef – I found out was still grain fed, so maybe not worth paying double $.
