02.25.2010-Thursday-**Gym Closed Today**

RedShed Rest Day

(Happy Birthday Alex, hope you are having fun in Hawaii)

Due to deteriorating driving conditions, which are to worsen as the day progresses, the gym will be closed today.  There will be no open gym or 1 on 1 training today!

We will resume normal training hours tomorrow.  If you must travel today, please do so with caution… maximize your rest day… play in the snow with your kids, enjoy life!!… and get ready for the FGB tomorrow (Beard's final WOD).

  7. A message from the crazy old turtle:
the more we get together, tooogether, tooogether, the more we get together the happier we’ll be… ’cause your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends… the more we get together, the happier we’ll be.
Often, great life lessons can be learned from those who have the least life experience!
    Don’t be a blog-killer!
    Uguay out!!

  13. Matt, Scott, VonRon and Janine…
very nice work getting Ro’s WOD done yesterday as quickly as you did. when programming it, I had those numbers in mind for a select few, and you guys didn’t let me down.
In addition, we have a ton of names in the rx’d column yesterday, which deserves a nice round of applause. Many of our women are moving up into the rx’d, and if they are not there yet, they are closing in quickly!!
    Awesome job ShedHeads!

  19. Yes Maria, i’ll due the airforce wod if i can get a pass on FGB, unless saturday is the day J9 decides to get it done.
Also, when watching the airforce wod from the qual, there was a girl who said she did a practice run of it a week or two before at 11 minutes and change. During competition she did it in 7 and change.
if you’re starting in the 9th minute, i think you should be ok with that for now…

  31. NorthEast Sectionals is about 1 month away. Just spent some time watching some videos from other competitions.
It is going to be interesting.
If you click on the games badge in the right side bar, you can navigate to the NorthEast Region. In case you want to be a volunteer or specator, you can register there.
I suspect that there will be some running in the one or more of the WODs. Looking forward to the experience (as a coach, not a competitor!).

He has to do FGB while listening to a continuous loop of “In the Navy” by the Village People!
    just kidding!

    Some advice for boot camp:
    1) Don’t volunteer for anything
    2) Keep your mouth shut
    3) Always do your best
    4) Don’t be a Sick Bay Commando
    5) Just take it a day at a time…It’ll be over before you know it and you will make some great friends
    6) Only drop deuce after lights out (Important)
    7) Do NOT wear sweats under your utilities on cold days
    8) Always, ALWAYS check your bore BEFORE firing
9)Cross-fit has you ready for the Quarterdeck
Thank you for volunteering to serve our country!
(Or is there a man with a shotgun who has a daughter of child-bearing age looking for you?)

  61. the only thing new from the test kitchen is a blueberry no-oatmeal cookie. I substituted about 3/4 cup of blueberries for the apricots. They’re pretty good…and purple! Janice hasn’t had one yet. I’ll let you know what the verdict is.
