02.27.2011-Sunday-Rest Day

Rest Day Reflections…

The evolution of you…

Think about what got you hooked, why you CrossFit, and what brings you back to the shed every week.  Take inventory of your accomplishments, as well as your pitfalls; and take ownership of the failures, as well as the triumphs.  Take notes along the way.  Strive for excellence every day.  Hold yourself to higher standards, and watch your evolution continue… in the gym, in your kitchen, at work…. in your life!

  1. Last one…before I am banned for being over the limit on comments…
Some of my favorite pics in that slide show:
SvW doing the push-up in the sunlight of the old Shed…reminds me of the simplicity of what CF can be about – all you need is your body and the O’RedShed
Dale sliding in on his face as he finished his WOD…pushing his body beyond the threshold
Shannon doing the push press for FGB with the freeweights…how far she has come

    Og-
    Meat! Vegetables!
You know when you are an addict when you have a near panic attack when there are others at the Farmer’s Market that reach for kale!

  41. Thanks for the shout out, J9! I think my biggest evolution has been mental, not physical. Sure, I can do a lot more, and lift a lot more, than I used to but the more important thing for me is that I believe in myself more than I ever have. Thank you for that Pat, J9, and this community.

  49. today’s wod results:
5 lunches for Janice (walnut crusted chicken breast with veggies and a couple chickens left over for stock)
5 lunches for Scott (grilled chicken thighs with veggies) + carrots, celery, and extra chicken for snacks.
    4 meatloafs
Dinner: yesterday’s meal-of-the-day double pork stuffed chicken breast(I took a cue from Randy and added red pepper and spinach. I was awesome) with grilled eggplant and enough left over for another meal.
1 huge double batch of fennel salad
enough breakfast hash to last the two of us a week.
    Elapsed time: 5 hrs
    Kat-
invest in pyrex or that glass snapware stuff. That plastic stuff will kill ya!
Also, Janice can’t believe anyone would even think of giving away any kale chips!
Like DP, I had to get out today, too.
I did a 19 mile loop on the road bike and then we took the dog for a 3 mile hike in the snow.
    TIME!

  57. Curry chicken tonight at the Stefiniw kitchen. It was great. Stefiniw style was to add additional veggies, snow peas also a little garlic and hot peppers, baby bok choy as a side dish cooked with ginger. My boys werent fond of the veggies but liked the chicken! I again loved it. Lots of coconut milk and a little chicken broth. A little hint, we cooked chicken seperate then tossed chicken fat cooked veggies seperate and in the end mixed together with curry sauce. All good!
Loved the slide show! the overwhelming sense was of evolution of a community!! Thanks Pat and J9! We love it!
