RedShed Rest Day…
There has been some productive comments on the website lately, along with positive feedback and encouragement among our small community of athletes. That is very cool.
As your trainer, it is awesome to witness how you all interact and encourage each other in and out of the gym. As our RedShed community grows, I hope we all strive to remain grounded, understand where each of us came from… and offer up the same support to every new member of our group.
So, on this rest day… enjoy some cool photos from the past couple of weeks, and have some fun with these rest day questions:
1. What is your favorite WOD? (we have done a ton of them, but I know you must have a favorite)
2. When you arrive at the shed, who are you looking to beat… yourself, the clock, or another RedShed Athlete?
3. What movement has got you stumped or is keeping you from getting over the hump?
4. The CrossFit main site is an unbelievable source of information… do you use it, or do you just like to watch the videos?
5. When is the last time Pukie the Clown was tapping you on the shoulder? Do you remember which WOD it was?
post your answers to comments:
1. Not entirely sure, because im so fond of many… i can tell you that the one that took me 46 minutes in Montreal is probably my least fav, though ive blocked out her name.
2. I’m personally looking to beat myself/clock, and on some days i’m looking for that push back and forth with Pat so set the bar for each other.
3. Still working on OHS, and running of course…
4. i just like the pictures.
5. Pukie’s got nothin on me!

1. I have a love/hate relationship with all of the wods, but I do enjoy anything involving box jumps, handstand push-ups, muscle-ups and overhead squats.
2. I admit, I do feel like I have to put up better than average numbers, being the trainer… so I guess I race the clock… and my head… and the rest of you!
3. My overhead pressing strength needs improvement, along with my rowing and running.
4. I try to use the CF main site as a learning tool every day… and so should you.
5. I had a run-in with pukie on tire flippin’ tuesday. Thankfully, he was just passing through and didn’t hang around to see what I had for lunch.

1. Filthy 50, CrossFit Legs Day
2. I would be lying if I didn’t say I was trying to beat the Coach, but more so – trying to beat a previous time or a previous amount of weight lifted.
3. A more efficient kipping technique, dips and HSPU are on my list to improve upon.
4. Use it!
5. I’d have to agree with Steve on Pukie having nothing on me – but distance rowing, the row 500m/run 400m and the row/burpee/run WODs were sure close (and very early on in the workout).

1. Only a couple of months into this…so sure have not done enough to have a fav, the the intensity of each work keeps me coming back for more.
2.Don’t need to beat anyone but like to see where everyone comes in… who is having a good and bad day, who is improving and who is just punching the clock. Always interesting to see what Mr. & Mrs. Redshed
do….yes there is pressure. All good!
3. Without question short term goal is to master kipping pull up to get off the band. Then move to ring dips…..then muscle ups…..BRING IT!
4. Check out the main site all the time watch videos more than I should…Still have not broken loose with my $25 for the subscription
5. Interesting… have not met Pukie yet…..maybe my intensity should increase! EVERY SECOND COUNTS!

1. I think the Murph was my favorite so far but I haven’t been through them all yet.
2. I’m trying to improve my own times for now. I’ll catch the rest of you sometime in the future.
3. Short term goal is to get in swimming trunk shape…so help me shave the jelly off my belly (er, not literally…Gross)
4. Haven’t spent much time on the main site but will do more looking around.
5. I haven’t met pukie the clown yet but Tuesday I was about as spent as I can remember being in recent memory. That one got me.
Looking forward to more! This is great!
(Might be bringing a new recruit next saturday morning. I’ll keep you posted)
Anybody interesting in joing me for biking? Mt/Trail or Road.

BF – spoken like you have been CrossFitting for a long time now – we have got you hooked!
Like the Mr. & Mrs. RedShed.
Charlie – My words to the Coach after finishing Murph – I love these kind of WODs! But I am not at the point where it is my favorite yet – the soreness afterwards was for DAYS!

Amen to the HERO wods, they are truly a test of stamina both mentally and physically. I can’t think of a better way to spend a saturday morning… time to break out the Hopper Deck coach and see who’s got the mettle!
I personally have a couple of scores to settle with that deck myself

Steve-
I think you were referring to Kelly as the fun Montreal one.

Yeah, that was a rowing Kelly however because it was January in Canada. The row/boxjump/wall ball combo was relentless and brutal. Maybe 46 minutes was extreme, but that workout slaughtered me at the time.
I welcome this as rx’d and think it needs to hit the board soon…
