  1. Wod 3 reflection,
This one made me think of how far I’ve come and how far I have to go. 165lb jerk feels like I’m trying to lift the world over my shoulders. Oddly similar to the first time I picked up a bar bell a few years back. Dp is going to pr this wod and get at least one round. It’s going to take a skin tight shirt and maybe some high socks to do it.

  9. J9,
Paleo substitute for pizza. Sweet potato and coconut milk smoothie. It’s got all your fat and carbs mixed up in one little cup. Maybe even throw in a banana for some sugar. I’m sure the pizza place puts sugar in their sauce.

  17. its been a while, and I only really have one question… When did Dp get free reign to talk about himself in the third person… in nearly every post?
come on people, don’t let him pop that junk!
Now, as for all this WOD anxiety, here’s a little perspective, in the 2008 CF Games final wod, (30 SC&J’s for time at 155lb) Jason Khalipa stole the top prize by doing 30 reps in 2:46 seconds, out of nowhere.
My point is, forget about how many you’re going to be able to do and think about how many of these Khalipa is going to get in 5 minutes now that he’s three years stronger.
SvW is fascinated by the possibilities for us all…

  25. I STILL not sure I understand the rules.
So, from CKL’s post yesterday about the bar winding up in front. That’s a missed jerk attempt.
Are you then allowed to stand there and just move the bar backward, save the rep?? or do you have to reclean & jerk? or just rerack and jerk? Say you move the bar back and then lose it behind… technically, the bar was over my heels for a split second – so does that count as a rep??
I would like to try this one, don’t know if I’ll be recovered enough though.

  33. Deb-I think you can keep trying the jerk as many times as it takes to get it. If you drop it, you have to clean it again, but you don’t have to squat again. If you can rerack it, then you try again from there. Each squat clean(or clean and then squat) counts as 1 rep, and each jerk(or push press/push jerk/etc) is 1 rep, they don’t have to be one movement. You do have to complete one squat clean and one jerk before you can count another squat clean. As far as dropping the bar backwards, I guess that’s a judge’s call. If they can see you locked out, and call the rep, and then you drop it, it’s good. If you never lock it out, then it’s no good.
