  1. Yes, this WOD is not what is posted on the board in the shed… but it will be!
Seriously, it is going to (or supposed to) be wet tomorrow, so Janine and I thought this WOD would be a better option!
Two athletes will go at a time, and we will cycle groups of two through after each group finishes their sdhp’s.
    You will love it!

  4. This should prove to be a tough one…
SvW – FINALLY watched Every Second Counts yesterday.
Was just a bit disappointed that the women’s competition was not shown. Otherwise it truly was every second that counted for Josh Everett, with Jason pulling out the win (and never really mentioned throughout the movie prior to finishing on top).
    Thanks for sharing!

  7. “Why Functional Movements” video on the main site today is a good one.
    Functional movements elicit POWER!
Moving large loads, a longer distance and quickly…and why we do so many deadlifts, burpees, cleans, squats.

  10. I agree with you of course J9, i would have preferred that there were 3 women and 3 men covered in the footage.
i think because the event has again proven to be so unpredictable with its results, that with the men at least they had a track record of who would likely be at the top of the competition.
i was pulling for Josh too, and i think the run on day one, event one, took it out of him…

  13. on a different note…
two athletes have gone through the WOD so far, and it seems as though it is the jump rope that dictates the WOD time. Doesn’t matter if you are doing double unders or singles… the jump rope is placed smack-dab in the middle of the WOD, muck it up and you are racing to make up time… hammer it out clean, and you can glide to the finish.
expecting a wide range of times on this one, ranging from sub 9:00 or 10:00 up to 16:00

  16. COACH I think Im starting to get the kipping vs swing!!!!! Hmmm we don’t open our hips at the finish – I see…
I think I don’t do it because it feels like its gonna make me go the opposite way, not up over the bar.
Once we DO finish with the hip turnover, what then? Where do we GO after that? Drop straight down? Into a back swing for the next pullup?
(I could do one at a time yesterday, bent legged, I hope I remember how I did it, cuz I couldn’t believe I went up – my son saw it tho – my back’s sore!)
    Burpees done.

  22. nice pat two times in one day. i was thinking about stoping by in the afternoon and trying it again due to the fact i was not happy with my time but i know how it gets crazy in there in the PM. i think i can do much better i just could not get going this morning. maybe i’ll try it again on a rest day in the near future.

  25. Go all out in intensity and you should not even be able to think about a second attempt at a WOD. Don’t hold back and your time is what it is.
Pat went through this a second time to help pace the PM crowd (and is just a freak of nature).
Would rather see you hit the WOD all out and aim to improve your time next time it comes up, then attempt a double and risk injury or have an impact on the next day’s WOD.

  28. Janine is right. It is all about the intensity. I attempt double WODs because part of my job is to motivate, and lead by example. If that means I need to train 3x a day in order to get you guys going, I will do it. Is it the smartest thing to do? NO, but I know when to pull back on the reigns and pace myself. I figure that if I feed the machine properly, I will be OK.
One thing I can say is that you guys provide energy. When I train with the group, I always find the energy to push through. On my own, it just gets tough to find that place.
