  1. Moreno is a product of NJ!
… and he is not going to be the only NFL athlete who adopts CrossFit as supplemental or full-time training.
An entire sub-culture of CrossFitters will emerge soon via the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL & MLS.
    You heard it here first!!
(gotta figure out how to get aboard that gravy train!!)

  9. Thats a sick video…I saw Knowshon play at Middletown when we were in high school, and he was a crazy athlete. My dad asked me a couple months ago that if I had only done crossfit in preparation for college football, if it would get me ready for the season, and I still stand by what I told him. I told him that crossfit ALONE will not get someone ready for a sport at an elite level. Does anyone else agree? It’s so easy to look at other people at said “globo gym” (I work at one) with disgust thinking that we’re better because we do crossfit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m guilty of doing it from time to time, but I catch myself and realize that at least they’re putting in the effort to do some sort of physical activity at all. Most people I talk to have never even heard of crossfit, so it’s more or less the fact that people aren’t educated enough about different ways to exercise, but that is the problem in so many cases (shopping cart being loaded with soda and fried chicken/obese person only doing low intensity weight lifting, etc.)…people need to be educated and taught the (proven to be) right and effective way to do things.

  17. I agree with your point, DougD.
I truly believe that CrossFit methodology will be added to the existing programs at the professional level in all sports.
    Think about it logically!
Take “increased work capacity over broad time and modal domains” and add it to an already fit, strong, explosive and technical training program. Pro athletes can only benefit from that type of supplemental training, and I truly believe that it will only be a matter of time until you start seeing Pro Team Affiliates.
    Just a matter of time!
You are on the front lines, Doug! Start spreading the word and educating people about CrossFit!

  25. IWCOBTAMD?
That is my fav way to train!
Will have to check out those videos.
    Dom and Toby-
We can’t wait your arrival back to the Shed…who is the next to come out of hiding?
Anyone have goblet squat soreness yet?

  33. I was gonna go hit up West Essex CF today after work. When I got on to 287 to hit 80 to get there, it was backed up. Dead stop.
So, I decided to head home and run. A run that I haven’t done since I started at the Shed, well over a year ago. I used to run it 2 to 3 times a week on days I wasn’t lifting. It’s a little over a three miles and my best time for it was 25:45.
I am pretty f#&king excited to say that today, my time was: 23:35
You’ve all heard me say that I hate running. I still do, but it’s something that I would always do to keep myself in check. Much like CF, I feel great once it’s over.
CF and even more so, the Shed, has brought me to this.
Thank you Pat, J9, the Shed and everyone there. I heart you guys.

  41. I was surprised to see a pro athletes Fran time at the beginning was in the 8+ minutes, I thought it would have been lower. It was amazing to see he brought it down to 3:30’s that quickly. Definitely goes with what Pat was saying about adding crossfit to an already demanding routine. Maybe I’ll pick him up in my fantasy league.
