11.19.2008-Thursday-RedShed Rest Day

RedShed Rest Day

Listen to your body.. if rest is needed, take it.

If not, come in and practice skills… do some weighted pull-ups, or bring in a buddy and introduce them to the shed.

Strength: thrusters 3,3,3,3,3

Rest Day Topic: Thanksgiving… I will let you elaborate!

  1. I’m thankful for a whole slew of things; latest and greatest has been getting back in shape with a bunch of fun people who really help me push myself.
When I started rowing every day a few weeks ago, it only took 450m to kill my lungs… now its up to 750m. Another great thing the Shed’s helped me with! 😀

  6. The list of things I am thankful for is quite long these days but one that nears the top of the list is my overall health. It is amazing how well the body functions when everything is working properly. It only takes one little thing to throw it off (whether it be a cold you are fighting off, a pulled muscle, etc.)which results in a deeper appreciation for your general overall health.

  11. The list of things I am thankful for is long but here is the top 5 for today:
    1) I am thankful to be alive and have a wonderful family
    2) I am thankful to be an American
    3) I am thankful I have a job (And I worry for all my friends and colleagues that find themselves on the hunt right now)
    4) I am thankful that I find my overall fitness level constantly improving
    5) I am thankful for the patience, assistance, and encouragement that Pat, J9, and my fellow ShedHeads have provided to me. I have come a long way since 2/27/09.
Pat – Will be taking a rest day today; Plantars Fasciitis flare up this AM. Popped some Advil. Those funky shoes with the toes are starting to look better and better…I am getting close to either buying a pair or giving that barefoot workout theory a try.

  21. Deb!
The larabar trail mix baking is in full effect. Pat went out and got Sam’s Club size ingredients – so we are stocked.
2 batches made – 1 for Pat 1 for myself. Who will finish theirs first?
I think right now I am in a coma-tose-like state from a high of the trail mix.
Carbo-loading on animal crackers is so pre-paleo! Paleo-load on the larabar trail mix!
I definitely think my consumption of it tonight will be weighing me down during tomorrow’s WOD.
If you haven’t tried this recipe yet – I encourage you to make it.
Pat and Ally Cat also scored some freshly made almond butter at Whole Foods today.
Happiness is being able to run (somewhat) again, having a supply of almond butter and larabar trail mix in my belly!
Oh and tomorrow’s WOD is O’RedShed friendly – but the decision once again lies between an ice cold pull-up bar (outside) or listening to Clutch at high volumes (inside).

  26. Im thankful for the same things, but probably Im most thankful for my faith – who can be against me? Everything else kind of flows from that. (no offense intended).

  31. I am thankful for too many things too mention…
But – today I am especially thankful for Elena – for introducing me to the shed and for be being a super amazing person.
I am also thankful for the massage I got earlier today.
And lastly I am thankful for the fact that I can walk today after yesterdays WOD. I figure that although I completed 200 doubleunders (woohoo!) I probably jumped that flippin’ rope over a thousand times. My calves are screaming at me.

  41. I can honestly say that I never thought I would meet Coach Glassman face to face, but I did… and when I did, before I even introduced mysef, I said “Thanks Coach”.
Just like many of you have stated, we all have so very much to be thankful for, it is true…. too much stuff to mention, but know this… without all of you, there is no RedShed.
    thank you!
