  9. Janine’s post is SO TRUE (the question).
Sometimes it takes brutal honesty to get the message through.
For the 30 day challenge, I can honestly say that it was the first time (in a very long time) that I went 100% compliant, with the exception of the 2 cheat days (and some cookies and ice cream on my birthday).
Even with those cheat days, my times went down, and my ability to transtition from movement to movement in a WOD improved dramtically (for me, anyway!). You see, I secretly DO want to be able to perform at a very high level (in my 40’s), but I was never ready to give up my ice cream! This time I did, and the results were amazing (at least they were for me!).
You know, there is no secret ingredient… there is not a secret strategy…
… you just need to be ready
ready to stop being a slave to sugar.
ready to commit to your health.
ready to stop lying to yourself.
    ready to stop making excuses.
    ready to risk being uncomfortable.
ready to risk failing (because you will).
If you’re not ready, you can’t blame CrossFit…
but if you are ready, what are you waiting for!!

  17. Greetings Shed,
Just a quick hello, as I was fortunate to be able to drop in for a couple of WODs this past week and I appreciate the hospitality. I work out at the Black Box in NYC (close to my work), though I live in Randolph and will drop back in from time to time. I’m impressed with how much can get done in such a small space…thanks for the encouragement. I did today’s WOD and the front squat/DL/pushup madness the other day. I was sufficiently smoked both times…mission accomplished!
    Peace,
    Reis
P.S. Amy – the solution to your ice cream issue is “So Delicious” coconut milk ice cream. It lives up to its name, and yes, it’s Paleo ;).
