  1. Let me apologize for the soon to follow sappiness but I just read the ‘be authentic’ entry on today’s blog.
I am new to CrossFit and RedShed. Please know that the Shed, in this very short amount of time, has impacted me tremendously. I now approach all aspects of life with a focus on efficiency, perfecting execution, overcoming barriers and striving to surpass my inner potential. RedShed coaches, know that you are amazing people and training with you is an honor. Your guidance and instruction to be great inspires me to try my hardest because your knowledge and passion for what you do deserves nothing less. Actually, many attributes of a great coach are seen in everyone that I have met thus far at the Shed (even those I only know by your posted name and accomplishments on the whiteboard). You all provide me motivation, support, comradery and a model to aspire to. Thank you ShedHeads for allowing me to participate in your collaborative journey.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

  10. all of your words are very kind!
fact is, I like to write… and I have many essays just sitting around. I stopped posting them for several reasons… but no need to elaborate on that!
what I want you all to understand is that the CrossFit movement is expanding at a very rapid rate. there is a 6 degrees of RedShed out there… men and women who trained in my garage, or went through our BT who are now “coaches”, or affiliate owners. this essay is not to downgrade anyone’s aspirations or accomplishments… that was not my message…
my message is to not be in such a rush, and to be freakin’ upfront and honest!
instead we see all the new boxes filling up their gyms with pre-sales and cheaper rates with inexperienced coaches, or coaches burning the candle at both ends.
    I did that.
I lived through those mistakes, and learned my lessons and earned my stripes.
You just need to be more careful now because of the saturated market.
It’s not about filling your gym to make that nut every month… at least it shouldn’t be. I realize we are a business, and we have bills to pay… but we have a plan, and it’s about staying true to you first, and true to CrossFit second… then the rest takes care of itself.
    we don’t waiver on that.
    because we are authentic.
I hope that makes sense, and doesn’t make me look like an elitist.
