Message for today… Life Coaching!
like it or not, as a Coach, you must be willing to wear many hats, and the one most often left on the shelf is that of a Life Coach.
why? because it’s uncomfortable, it’s scary, and people don’t want to talk about their shortcomings, fears, anxieties and hang-ups. nobody likes to admit, or be reminded that “Life is hard”.
along my coaching journey, OPEX has been a tremendous asset… a compass, so to speak. my job is not only to create health and wellness through fitness, but to improve the quality of life for those who trust me.
Today’s message on the OPEX blog is a good one, and it hit home with me because I can identify with the message!… check it out below!
“Life is hard.”
No sugar coating that with flowery language, just three simple words.
And this sentiment is reflected in the video:
“Whether you fear it or not, disappointment will come. The beauty is that through disappointment you can gain clarity. And with clarity comes conviction and true originality”.
The point here is that regardless of what you do or don’t do, life will be hard some of the time. And sometimes that elicits fear. But if you’ve ever had the opportunity to walk through one of your greatest fears, you’ll already know that the gifts that await you on the other side are usually necessary and incredible because…
“There are few things more liberating in this life than having your worst fear realized”.
It’s a natural human response to wish that life was easy all the time, to seek pleasure and avoid pain and to only want the ups and not the downs. But you cannot avoid the unavoidable.
As I’ve said before on this blog, my personal mantra around this is…
THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH.
Because “it is our failure to become our perceived ideal that ultimately defines us and makes us unique. It’s not easy, but if you accept your misfortune and handle it right, your perceived failure can become a catalyst for profound reinvention.”
