Hi everyone! I apologize in advance for the length of this post smile emoticon DRAGONBOAT RACE registration opens tomorrow! There is going to be a bigger turnout than last year and they are expecting to end up having a waiting list because even though they are adding more boats, they have to limit the number of spots available. With that said, to hold a boat 50% of the boat cost needs to be put down for deposit. The boat entry fee went up this year to $1500 per boat, which comes out to be $75 per person….(20 people on the boat…Last year it was $60 per person). I am willing to go to put the $750 deposit down and register Team Redshed tomorrow…BUT that means if you are committed I need your $75 as soon as possible, since I am putting out $750 for the deposit. We might even have enough people for 2 Redshed boats, which would be awesome. As of now just based on the first post I put out, we had 26 people say they were definitely in….and there may have been people that didn’t see the initial post or who were on the fence….and I didn’t post it on the blog yet so if someone is not on facebook they wouldn’t have seen it. SO…spread the word and if you didnt see the original post and want in, let me know ASAP! I will put this on the blog tomorrow morning. I think we can get 2 competitive boats together for sure! Logistics for 2 boats will be worked out once we know if we definitely have 2 boats entering. I will put the deposit down tomorrow for Boat #1 so if you are interested and havent let me know, please do so quickly because they way this event is expected to fill up, if we don’t get a commitment for 20 people for a second boat we may not have the opportunity to even register a second boat..and that would be sad frown emoticon I will post more info on the whole event once I receive the new website link….but here is the basic info:
Dragon Boat race to benefit the Sparta Education Foundation
    Sunday May 15, 2016
    On Lake Mohawk, Sparta
    Cost $75 per person
We also need one drummer per boat…someone on the smaller side. We don’t charge the drummer the $75…they are helping for the greater good and are helping to keep us in sync smile emoticon
There is a facebook page you can check out last years results, pics and posts…the page is called Sparta Dragonboat Festival.
Sorry, I know I’m longwinded when it comes to this….I just like to be clear and give all the details! smile emoticon
