Many a good coach/trainer/teacher will admit that some of their best quotes, techniques and methods have been “borrowed” from other coaches/trainers/teachers. If not, they are probably lying!!
I am no different. I love to read and see what other coaches are doing… and if I like it, I will use it and always give credit where the credit is due. Ethical philosophy, eh!
Recently, a few of Lisbeth’s essays and Ben Bergeron’s CFJ article sparked my interest! I mean, I was fired up at the conclusion of the essays/article! Passionate explanations of simple concepts that deeply affect the CrossFitter!
So I pose two questions to you:
1) Are you passionate?
2) Where does the passion come from?
Perhaps these are two questions that you might think do not apply to you? Well, it isn’t ALWAYS about CrossFit… what are you passionate about in your life? What fuels that passion… where does that sense of purpose come from? Define it for yourself. Understand why that fire burns in your belly.
Maybe CrossFit fuels that fire? Perhaps it is the challenge of being a good spouse, parent, sibling, son or daughter? Some of us might have that sense of purpose geared toward achieving “things” and having money?
Whatever it is for you, embrace it, understand it and how it makes you tick!
In the realm of the universe, what I am saying could very well be meaningless…
But in the realm of the RedShed… passion is what keeps the doors open!
Our passion, your passion… our sense of purpose, your sense of purpose.
Passion and purpose are why bumblebees can fly, and why racehorses are so fast!
Passion and purpose are what creates measurable results, personal records, and finally getting a WOD rx’d.
Passion and purpose are what keep families strong, and jobs secure.
Where does your passion come from?
