In reflection of life and events… our calendars can really begin and/or end on any given day. Just so happens that this time of the year forces us into a time of reflection, gratitude, appreciation and generosity.
My position in life as a father, husband and coach provides me with a multitude of opportunities to provide things like service, support, love, encouragement and discipline (just to name a few). So when years come to an end, I take time to sit back and reflect on how I handled those opportunities.
My ultimate goal is to have served my community… did I contribute to society, or did I just consume?
My ultimate goal is to prepare my kids for life… did I provide tough love and highlight life lessons, or did I just coddle?
My ultimate goal is to be a pillar of love for my family and my work family… again, did I contribute, or just consume?
I can hit my ultimate goals on any given day… and I really shouldn't have to wait until a certain time of the year to be focused on them… same goes for our health and fitness.
Why wait?
Any given day can be the day for you to make a difference in your health, fitness and longevity! And when you do, you are greatly impacting everyone around you who sees what you are doing! We are all connected in a weird, cosmic sort of way… and being present and positive is contagious!
Soon it will be a new year… but will it be a new you, or the same you but just better?
There is a famous line in a song by Pearl Jam… "I've changed by not changing at all…"
I love that line because it is so damn true!
All of your attributes are already within you… you just need to allow them to surface!
Remember that we are on a journey… and you can walk along a new path on any given day!
