If you have kids, and you bring them to the shed, we need to all work together to encourage better conduct. My kids are probably the worst offenders, so I don’t want you to think they are getting a pass here.
If you plan on bringing your offspring to the shed so you can train, please do your best to:
- bring something that will keep them occupied while you are training.
- communicate to them that they are not allowed to touch, utilize or climb on any of the equipment… nothing… that goes for pvc pipes, dowels, abmats, boxes, rings, climbing the pull-up bars, med balls, bands… etc.
- They are not to take cups and waste water, and occupy the bathroom (unless it’s for obvious reasons).
- communicate to them that if they break these rules, you will be asked to wrap it up and take them home immediately, 1 strike and you’re out.
- if you have food for them, you are responsible to clean up their crumbs and debris.
- communicate to them that they are not to be in the parking lot or running around the outside of the building at any time, with or without parent supervision.
All I can say is that I am sorry that my girls have to be at the gym everyday. I realize it can be distracting, and it is not always the best scenario… but it is what it is. You have to understand our situation and work with us on this. It is very stressful when our kids don’t listen… and when I say “our”, I’m including my kids in there, for I know they tend to not listen quite a bit.
Allyson and Caitlyn have been made aware of these rules, and we plan to enforce them with zero tolerance.
I am working very hard to create a situation where our kids can be in a safe place while we train, and I am trying extremely hard to create a situation where Janine and I won’t have to have the girls in the gym every night.
Please, let’s work together and try to keep everyone safe, and our kids occupied and off the equipment.
Thanks
