The CrossFit Games Open Season is now upon us!!
WOD 20.1 will be announced on October 10th, and we will be performing The Open WODs every Saturday at the shed!
Here is how Saturdays will work throughout The Open season (Oct 12 – Nov 9)
- Every Saturday, workouts will begin at 8am and heats will continue on a timed basis, depending on the duration of the workouts… last available training times will be in the 10am hour!!
- Signing up for heats will occur at the shed via the whiteboard in the back training space. All training opportunities will be on a first come, first served basis… so if you want to train at a certain time or in a certain heat YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to show up and sign up… we are not using ZenPlanner for Saturday training during the Open Season. (depending on available judges, we usually can get 5-8 in each heat)
- If you are registered for The Open OR if you are signed up as a team participant, you must complete the workout with a judge and meet all movement standard criteria, whether it be Rx’d or Scaled (You DO NOT have to be registered for The Open to participate in the RedShed Team Open Competition)
- If you are not registered for The Open OR on a team but still want to train on Saturdays, you will still need to sign up for your heat using the whiteboard in the back training space, but you will not need a judge.
- If you are participating in The Open and Saturdays will not work in your schedule, you can perform The Open WODs on a day that works for you in coordination with a coach/judge. Please remember that training classes take precedence over an Open WOD, so please be sure getting your Open WOD completed does not interfere with the regular class schedule… thanks in advance for that!
- Repeating Open WODs is discouraged… unless it will provide you with the opportunity to be eligible for The Games, or bump you into the top 200 in the world in your masters age division.
- Please take responsibility to make sure you have coordinated with a coach/judge if you cannot perform the WODs on Saturdays.
