Funny thing happened to me in 2010 that made me aware of two things that had (and currently have) a huge impact on my life…
Wealth: a great quantity or store of money, valuable possessions, property, or other riches: or, an abundance or profusion of anything; plentiful amount.
Change: to make the form, nature, content, future course, etc., of (something) different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone
My perception of wealth took on many faces in 2010. In the face of financial adversity, I stood tall as a Husband, Father, CrossFitter and an Affiliate Owner, and decided to “choose the wrench” (thanks Scott, Lisbeth, and Daigle). Stuff and money don’t make me wealthy. My family, spirituality and people I surround myself with are what enrich my life. Yes, those things might not pay the bills, but so what. If CrossFit teaches us anything, it is that we can handle everything… especially change.
Yes, change is tough for some of us to handle… so are the 15’s in “Fran”, but you gut it out, and you get through it! The shed is evolving, moving us closer to more space, more trainers and a stronger family. Janine and I will always be the face of the shed, but in order for us to grow as a family and as an affiliate, we need to get our home-grown trainers on the job! Starting this month, Brendan and Scotty will be running WODs at the shed. Brendan will have the morning WODs on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Scotty will be running the WODs on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Janine will be there in the AM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and will be relieving me on Monday and Thursday evenings.
So as we forge ahead into 2011, let’s rock this thing together! Let’s be open to new training styles, new coaching techniques and improving our general physical preparedness. FYI – be prepared for anything, anytime!!
