2011: Who We Are
Over the past month, I have read a lot of posts, blurbs and blogs about CrossFit, training, eating, commitment etc.
… and it got me thinking
Thinking about how far we have come, and who we are…
RedShed… it’s not a name to represent our town, it’s not some catchy name to personify the badassery of CrossFit… it’s a name that represents where we came from, a red shed. Humble, modest, a structure built true to form from a strong foundation.
We are a small CrossFit Gym. We have limited square footage and equipment, but we have unlimited encouragement, support and loyalty.
We like to focus on fitness (we love metcons!!). If you are looking to be a competitive Olympic Weightlifter or Powerlifter, the shed might disappoint you. But if you want to have fun in a CrossFit atmoshpere, we can deliver!
We are a “Mom & Pop” shop… a family oriented gym. Our kids are at the shed with us almost all of the time. If you don’t like kids, well then the shed isn’t your ideal place to train. If you enjoy being a positive role model for all children, then we applaud you and welcome you with open arms! The RedShed is a family!
We are a philanthropic group of individuals. Need help? Just ask, and we will deliver!
We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take ourselves seriously enough to get it!! You only have to commit to yourself.
We are CrossFit Junkies… we participate and compete in local events and The CrossFit Games! Some of us play to win, others play because it is damn fun searching for your true potential!
You see… as I sit and take inventory of how big CrossFit is getting, I don’t ever want to lose sight of who we are, what we represent and where we came from. In addition to that, I want those new to the RedShed to understand what they will get when they walk through our doors. I want them to be ready, and have a good understanding of what to expect.
Thanks to everyone for a truly tremendous 2011! It was a great year, and we are looking forward to an even better year in 2012!
Yours in Fitness,
Pat
