I can actually give credit to my brother for introducing me to Crossfit. A couple years ago he mentioned this foreign word to me and of course I had to go home and look it up. I can remember thinking “Oh no…there is NO way I can do such a thing.” It looked way too hard and intimidating. So I continued going to the gym lifting weights (sometimes), participating in step and toning classes, and teaching some of my own spin, pilates, and boot camp classes. And eventually I got bored! So years later I googled Crossfit again and landed on the RedShed page. That was October 2011 and I have been hooked ever since. My first WOD (ironically…also my 6 yr old) was “Jack.” I did it modified because I was a nervous wreck to do a 20″ box jump. And when I got home the only thing I could talk about was Crossfit for weeks and eventually my husband got “hooked” too! Besides the fact that Crossfit really works, my favorite part of it is the people. You will never go into a gym and EVERYONE not only knows who you are, but truly cares about you, your family, and your workout. Over the last year I have spent many hours in the shed getting to know a lot of awesome people and look forward to coaching them and helping them reach their goals.
