I can actually give credit to my brother for introducing me to Crossfit.  A couple years ago he mentioned this foreign word to me and of course I had to go home and look it up.  I can remember thinking “Oh no…there is NO way I can do such a thing.”  It looked way too hard and intimidating.  So I continued going to the gym lifting weights (sometimes), participating in step and toning classes, and teaching some of my own spin, pilates, and boot camp classes.  And eventually I got bored!  So years later I googled Crossfit again and landed on the RedShed page.  That was October 2011 and I have been hooked ever since.  My first WOD (ironically…also my 6 yr old) was “Jack.”   I did it modified because I was a nervous wreck to do a 20″ box jump.  And when I got home the only thing I could talk about was Crossfit for weeks and eventually my husband got “hooked” too!  Besides the fact that Crossfit really works, my favorite part of it is the people.  You will never go into a gym and EVERYONE not only knows who you are, but truly cares about you, your family, and your workout.  Over the last year I have spent many hours in the shed getting to know a lot of awesome people and look forward to coaching them and helping them reach their goals.
Favorite Crossfit moves:  ummmm, wall balls! wall balls! and more wall balls! and basically anything that involves squatting
Least Favorite moves:  ring dips, barbell pushups, T2B
Biggest Achievement: Climbing a rope at the Lift For Lungs Competition (it was just an incredible experience and I can’t truly write my thoughts and feelings about it without writing a book so if you have some time and want to know…we can do coffee!)
Goal:  To not be “afraid” of doing T2B
Enjoys doing:  participating in the Wii game “Just Dance” and thinking I am good at it ….having parties with all the shedheads!!!

  • ShedHead since: June 1st, 2011
  •

  • Favorite WOD/movement: Chippers and AMRAPs, Cleans, pullups, Double Unders
  • Least favorite WOD/movement: Toes to bar, wallballs, and thrusters
  • Most noteable achievement: I came into the shed not being able to do half the stuff everyone else was doing, and although I started feeling discouraged, everyone at the shed was very positive and encouraging.  After hard work and setting goals, I am able to do whatever it takes to lead by example.  I hope to help everyone achieve their goals and not only be a trainer, but be a coach.  The RedShed community is one of my favorites, and is not just a gym – it is a humbling place where you can learn a lot about yourself.  I truly learned a lot about myself thus far and hope to help everyone achieve their goals.
  • Describe “the shed” in 3 words:  Camaraderie, community, success.
