Rest!
As The Open draws near, we would like to address REST!
First, take a personal inventory of your training, nutrition and rest patterns.
Are all three of those components of your life in order?
Are you eating well enough to maximize your training?
Are you resting enough to maximize growth and recovery?
Are you training too much… not enough?
The thing about CrossFit is that it is rather addicting, and we as CrossFitters can become a bit fanatical about our training.
Another thing about CrossFit (affiliates) is that it is a business. We need to be open 5-7 days/week in order to accommodate our athletes.
With that being said… our addicting, fanatical nature most likely has some of us training every day the shed is open! NOT GOOD!!!
After reading this post, I hope you can come away understanding one thing… Growth CANNOT occur without proper rest, recovery and nutrition.
Please… take time to make sure you are eating well enough to perform at a high level, resting enough to allow your mind and body to recuperate, and training ONLY enough to promote progress.
