I realize it has only been one WOD (although we are getting two weeks of it!!)… but The Open has opened my eyes…
I see the CrossFit Community GROWING at a tremendous rate, and that is very exciting!
I see the RedShed Community coming together as a team, competitors and non-competitors alike… and that is very cool!
I see how the competitive edge affects you and our team…. I see a bunch of gamers who like to bring it on gameday, and that is awe-inspiring!
I see athletic women testing the waters, with 100% support from our community… and that makes me proud (and very psyched for our women!)
I see our team competing…. don’t count us out! We may come from a humble 1000sqft, but it is a box full of CrossFit… and did I mention we are BADASS!
From the business owner/coach perspective, I see a potential logistical nightmare turning into a smoothly run competition, handled properly by a RedShed community that cares about ethics and standards.
From the athlete’s eyes… heck, my eyes are WIDE OPEN! This is so awesome! We are part of something incredible… and not just CrossFit incredible… RedShed incredible!! I get to compete against the world in my own gym, with and against my fellow ShedHeads. This is an opportunity that is two-fold. It is an opportunity for us to grow as an athletic community, and an opportunity for each of us to grow athletically as individuals.
And when The Open is over, and the cards have fallen where they have fallen… the end result is what it is… maybe we make it, maybe we don’t! But regardless of the outcome, think about how far you have come as a CrossFitter… as a ShedHead.
Never regret trying your best…
…as Mr. Amundson would say…”put yourself in a position of power, breath and fire!”
